Pushkar-Rajasthan is the world’s largest camel market, located in the same place for over 100 years.

Everything related to camels can be found here: races, auctions, and countless other sorts of entertainment.

This place is the perfect mixture of Indian tradition and culture, you don’t even want to sleep because there is always something going on. It is a fantastic experience to be present.

The lights and the silhouettes are mesmerizing with the eye of a photographer.

The lights here are completely different than anywhere else. Instead of reflecting, the surroundings immerse the light here, therefore colors are pastel-like and the pictures look like they were drawn.

It is a rough way of life these people have to conduct here. It is in the middle of nowhere, there is a lot of dust and dirt in the air. Even food or water can be dangerous for European people, many also fell sick in my team. A small wrong move, like the camera touching your eyes, can cause incurable sickness due to the bacteria in the air.

Moreover, I seriously had to shelter and wrap up the camera because if I make one bad move, it instantly gets full of sand, which can easily break the camera. Technically, taking good pictures in this area is a great challenge, but this is what motivated me back then.

This picture was taken during sunset, as a camel was standing it was really interesting to see the sun going down between its legs. This scene reflects the real beauty of this area but also involves the theme of the market (the camel), so to me, it was a very special moment.
